This is great 👏👏👏 BUT positioning Lightning fees as "basically zero" is inaccurate and even bad for Lightning. Fees are *proportional* to the transaction amount. That's the reason Lightning is a game changer.

And yet the fees are basically zero...

Not really and definitely not for sizable transactions. Also, fees are increasing (which is actually a good thing).

Would u just position it as fast ? if its fast but a bit expensive then few will use it .... money when it changes hands it should be zero or basically zero fees for it to be adopted

Instant settlement with *proportional* fees. Small tx - small fees. We think for larger txns the fees will be typically lower than the medium speed on-chain fees (which is great), but we'll see what the market decides.

What do you recommend Lightning users set their fees to then?

If you rebalance yourself, set them higher than your peers. Otherwise they can be anything. But low fees often attract unidirectional flows so your channels wouldn't route much and rebalancing would be your loss.

Onchain you pay for space, on lightning you pay for liquidity. Super neat. Not free :-)

But Lightning fees *are* basically zero.

Nope. 0.2-0.4% fees are pretty common.
